The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no login.
- The 240-hour transit checker runs in your browser. Your answers (nationality, ports, dates) are not sent to our server.
- We may use cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count visits.
- We may show ads (Google AdSense) and use affiliate links in future. If we do, this page will be updated first.
What the site is
China Transit Guide is a static website: pages and scripts delivered to your browser. We don't keep a user database and don't collect names, passport details, email addresses or payment information through the site.
Analytics
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is designed to measure traffic without cookies and without tracking individuals across websites. It gives us aggregate information such as page views, referring sites, country and browser type. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security and reliability.
The transit checker
Everything you enter in the checker is processed on your device. We never receive your nationality, travel dates or itinerary. Please don't enter passport numbers or other identifiers; the checker doesn't need them.
Advertising (future)
We may show ads in future, for example through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may then use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which may be personalised depending on your location and choices. Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent first. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Affiliate links (future)
Some pages may in future include affiliate links, for example to travel insurance, eSIMs or hotel booking sites. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links will be clearly labelled and won't change our guidance.
